Athena Kick-OFF Meeting

MPE garching Jan 29/30 2014

On Nov 28th 2013, ESA selected the science theme “The Hot and Energetic Universe” for its next large satellite mission with launch in 2028 (L2). How did ordinary matter assemble in the large scale structures we see today? How did black holes grow and shape the Universe? These and many more questions will be answered with by a next generation X-ray observatory, Athena, to be proposed to ESA in early 2014 in response to the call for the L2 mission concept.

We are happy to invite you to MPE to kick-off the preparation for the Athena mission concept proposal and to present and discuss the ongoing and planned activities.
